Tom's first day of work began when Fernando arrived about 9.00 and we walked 15 minutes to the university. We worked til about noon going over all the details of the project they are working on; then was time for a coffee and something sweet. Back to work, we went over the arrangements for the next few days and explored some of the issues from the morning. We went for lunch at 2. The first photo is ads for a shop just around the corner that sells drinks and snacks (the smiling face is an ad for potato chips). The second photo is from lunch at a restaurant in a very old building with high ceilings. After lunch it was time to meet the Dean of Education and then have a tour of the new phys ed building with a rooftop patio with good views of the city.
LaVerne managed to explore more of the centre of the city and pick up some ingredients for dinner. She also discovered the best market area, just 5 minutes from where we are staying. Fernando and I walked back about 6 and took a quick look; we'll be back there for sure for souvenirs at some point this week.
Another sunny and warm day, very hard to take!
